HOW TO ADD CUSTOM GIF VISUALS TO POWER BI REPORT

Visuals speak more than a picture or text. To make our dashboard more interactive and exciting we can use GIF to display data visuals. So how to play with GIF in Power BI.

Let's get started!

Step 1: Log in to your Power BI desktop account and select ENTER DATA from the DATA group. Rename the column name and Table name and add your gif Link. And Load the Table.

I have created my GIF online from DATA GIF MAKER, Google initiative.

You can check them out. It’s fun and engaging.

Step 2: Go to DATA, where we can edit our Table details. Click on the column having GIF links, and from the column tools, change the data category to the image URL.

Step 3: Now go back to the visualization pane and Plot the gif. Your GIF is plotted, but it’s too tiny. How to resize it?

Download custom visual from the Power BI visualization pane

Go to “Get More Visuals” from the visualization pane. A dialogue box would be displayed, and in the search bar, type the image and Add any visual of your choice. You will be notified once the visual is downloaded, and the icon of that visual would be displayed under Visualization Pane.

The next step is to use your new downloaded visual, and this time, you can easily adjust the size of the visual, which is easily visible and readable.

Yeah, so that’s it — comment below for any queries.
